Led by Associate Professor Roger Kempers, the Thermofluids Research Laboratory (TF-LAB) at York University is a leading research facility in the areas of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics. Our goal is to advance the state of thermal energy transport, exchange, and conversion technologies through the development of improved understanding, novel research, experimentation, and invention.

TF-LAB is a hub for cutting edge experimental design and has extensive collaborations with international academic and industrial partners.

TF-LAB works with industry partners from, among others, the automotive, energy, and healthcare sectors, to research and develop knowledge and technology that will help futureproof Canadian industries.

Under the leadership of Prof. Kempers, TF-LAB has secured hundreds of thousands of dollars in funding from international, federal, and provincial and university funding bodies. Situated in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at York University, TF-LAB is focused on delivering applied solutions to real-world problems.
